Raw Food Potluck!

Do you love eating raw, adding raw or are curious about the benefits of eating raw? Potlucks are the perfect place to learn through experience by eating, bringing your favorite raw food dish or dessert, and by meeting other
enthusiastic people. Eating raw is about so much more than what you eat, but it sure helps to eat healthfully!

Raw foods embodies what we believe to be true, namely that raw, living foods were designed to give us life. The wisdom of the ages tells us that we are always either moving away from or toward something. Our goal is to move toward greater awareness of our choices regarding what we put into our bodies and how we live our lives… away from parental, cultural, societal and environmental tendencies and fallacies that we have generally accepted carte blanche up until now.

Our society is in paradox with so many health products, treatments and solutions, yet the result is all so often too little wellness. However, by getting back to the basics and taking back our lives, we can begin to make sense of it all in this seemingly, nonsensical world.

Once your consciousness is raised by the truth, you can only move toward it-or by lack of action, go backwards-you cannot remain the same. We are seeking those individuals that desire to look both logically and intuitively at their basic natures for answers that lead them to radiant health and optimal living through fundamental food and lifestyle changes.

Very few studies have been done to corroborate the inherent truth that comes with living the raw foods lifestyle. Yet there are thousands of converts out there who have suffered various maladies and disease only to return to perfect health.

This is for people of the Montgomery area who want to have Raw Food Potlucks closer to their home, but people of all areas are welcome. Please feel free to discuss raw food issues and ask questions. This is our local raw food community!

Potluck info:

This months Raw Food Potluck will be held on November 16th, 2009 at 6:15 PM.
Each person please bring a raw food dish, preferably organic/natural, raw & vegan/vegetarian (no meat). Some examples of raw potluck dishes are, starting with the simplest of salads, chopped fruits, and sliced vegetables. Then more elaborate recipes, some "mock" raw dishes such as live "pizza," "lasagna," "granola," "raw crackers," "chocolate cake," etc. Also bring anything you would like to share, trade, or give away to others, such as raw books, kitchen equipment, recipes etc. Feel free to bring guests to encourage them to eat raw food too!

Definitions:

Raw Foodist/Vegetarian:
A person who consumes uncooked, unprocessed, raw food, usually organic. For example fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, etc. A dehydrator, at degrees under 118, can be used for fruits or various recipes such as raw crackers, raw bread, raw cake, etc. Most raw foodists are raw vegans.

Raw Vegan:
As described above, however only consumes plant based foods and does NOT eat animal products such as raw milk, raw honey, etc.
